Two boys arrested after Chandler’s Ford Halloween party stabbings

Two teenage boys have been detained on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing incident at a Halloween party where five teenagers were injured. The authorities were alerted shortly after 10:30 p.m. GMT on Saturday to an event at Park Road in Chandler’s Ford, Hampshire, after an unidentified group reportedly gained access to the party.
Among the victims, two boys remain hospitalized with serious wounds, including one 17-year-old whose condition is described as life-threatening. The remaining injured teenagers have since been released from medical care. Police have apprehended a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old, both hailing from Southampton, who are currently being held on suspicion of attempted murder.
According to eyewitness accounts given to the BBC, the altercation began when some individuals climbed over a garden fence to enter the gathering, though the exact reason behind the stabbings remains unclear. One witness recalled, “I was [standing] in the hallway near the exit and I saw someone I know pull up their shirt and say ‘I’ve been stabbed’. And then I later saw him lying outside the front of the house with someone compressing his wound.”
In response to the incident, police have secured parts of Park Road and the neighboring Valley Road. Detective Chief Inspector Elizabeth Pirie noted the progress of the investigation but emphasized the need for community assistance. She said, “Whilst the two arrests are a significant development in our investigation, which has moved at pace since the incident was first reported to us, we still urge our communities to contact us with any information, no matter how small it may seem.” She also encouraged those who attended the party or possess any form of footage from the area—such as CCTV, mobile phone, dash cam, or doorbell cameras—to come forward
